					<l>My Dear Mother:</l>
<l>I flew out to Aberdeen, Md.</l>
					<l>this A.M. to witness an experiment</l>
					<l>with a new type of bomb.</l>
					<l>Nothing happened.  Our efficient</l>
					<l>army so boggled the affair</l>
					<l>that the explosive all escaped</l>
					<l>into thin air before we</l>
					<l>arrived at the place of</l>
					<l>trial- How absurd!</l>
					<l>It rained then and we</l>
					<l>drove back in autos to</l>
					<l>Washington, 75 miles, and</l>
					<l>attended the Joint Session.  The</l>
