It was pleasant to hear your
voice Saturday morning. I got
back Sunday at one.
Had a busy but happy
day in Vermont. Meeting of Trustees
of the University, Basket Ball
Game & Kake Walk, as well
as the telephone with you
and visit with Bob and his
family. I read your letters
to Bob and Warren III.
Warren III is carrying his
around his pocket.
He is proud of it.
We are in session proceeding with the
appropriation for Depts. of State,
Commerce, Justice and The Judiciary.
Amt. of Bill as reported to Senate
107,241,000. representing a net
increase of the House Bill of 15,340.
At present Sen. Tobey has the
floor showing that expenditures of
many funds are made without
audit by the General Accounting
office- This is bad practice.
Gold unincumbered is stated
to be not checked up, but amts. to
2,318,866,000.
Silver is in the same situation.
This lack of verification is bad
business.
