My Dear Mother:
We are in session considering
an appropriation bill. Right
now your friend Sen. McCarran
is making a vigorous speech
for development of air transportation.
Mildred had lunch at the
White House & I lunched with
Lord Lothian at the British
Embassy. His other guests
were Mr. Gifford of the British
Treasury, Walter Lippman
famous columnist and
Jo Davies ambassador to
Russia.
