My Dear Mother:
The top of the news is sad today.
Senator Borah passed away last
night.
I never saw so many Senators
standing around in the Senate
Chamber as there are now.
Groups deeply affected by
the bereavement.  This is
indeed a great club.  Strong
bonds of sentiment unite
us outside of our forensic
disagreements.
I have agreed to go to


Idaho on the Funeral Committee.
Will leave Monday and return
the following Sunday.
There will be a state
ceremony in the Senate
Monday.
Hope you continue to
gain strength.
