My Dear Mother:
We are starting
debate on
Railroad
Legislation this morning. It
would if adopted, regulate
all kinds of transportation
excepting that by air,
which is regulated under
the Civil Aeronautics Act.
There is a great
hubbub among the
press ladies because they
were not all invited to the
garden party of the British
Embassy to honor the
King and Queen.
Mildred and I are
invited and Mildred
will go. I shall not be
there because, at that
hour, 4-6 May 8,
I will be en route to
Burlington for a meeting
of Trustees of the N.V.M.
It is getting warm here.
