United States Senate Washington, D.C. Jan. 25, 1939. My Dear Mother: There will be in the Record of today a speech by Sen. Lewis relating to the Spanish Embargo and our foreign policy which will doubtless interest you.  We are leaving a storm of letters and petitions pro and con on lifting the Embargo We may vote later in the day on the Relief Bill.  I expect to support the majority report of the committee which requires a reduction of appropriation but provides [ ] for relief without waste or political  use of the money. Mildreds cold persists and we will cut tonights engagement. Best love Warren
