					<l>United States Senate</l>
					<l>Washington, D.C.</l>
					<l>May 17, 1938.</l>
					<l>My Dear Mother:</l>
<l>I am not going to participate in</l>
<l>the debate or voting on the Bill</l>
<l>to control the making and sale of</l>
					<l>films for movie shows.  I am</l>
					<l>a small stockholder in three</l>
					<l>theaters: The Majestic and</l>
<l>The Flynn in Burlington and The</l>
					<l>Capital in Montpelier.  The amount</l>
<l>of my interest is small but I</l>
<l>do not want the smell of brimstone</l>
					<l>on my garments.  I could vote</l>
					<l>without conscious prejudice or</l>
					<l>bias, but I would rather feel</l>
<l>free from the possibility that I</l>
<l>do not know that my vote is</l>
					<l>influenced by selfish financial</l>
					<l>interest.  They are debating the</l>
<l>bill now.  It is called the Neelly Block</l>
					<l>Booking Bill.  Best love,</l>
					<l>Warren</l>
