United States Senate Washington, D.C. May 8, 1938 My Dear Mother, Senator Clark of Missouri is speaking against the Navy Bill. The more I listen the more firmly am I pursuaded to vote for the Bill.  However, he is a good fellow and sincere. I am getting many calls for speeches during the summer and it is hard to deny some of them.  I ought to have a long rest, free from such exercise. Mildred decidedly better. Best love, Warren
