United States Senate Washington April 8, 1938, My Dear Mother: Thank you for your fine letters. Warren III is with us and is a perfect gentleman. We are enjoying his presence. I skipped writing you yesterday because I was snowed under. Last night I made a speech in a meeting of the League of Republican Women here.  It was a fine meeting. Sen. Frazier is on the floor making a speech against a part of  the tax bill.  I hope this bill may pass because it repeals the surplus Tax and modifies the Capital Gains Tax- Many visitors are here which adds [ ] to our work and pleasure- Love- Warren
