United States Senate Washington Saturday July 20, '35 My Dear Mother- We are holding a session today which began at 10 A.M. (2 hrs earlier than usual) and may last into the night. We are working on the A.A.A. I am voting consistently to improve the bill & try to make it constitutional. So for as economics goes I shall vote for the Amendments & the A.A.A. for the sake of our milk producers. It is but a temporary relief at best but it ought to off-set the discrimination in favor of the South against the North. Mildred and I are well and our happiness is increased by letters from you. I wonder if your garden is surviving the heat.  Do you get any rain? Yesterday it was 94 in the shade here and today looks like higher temp. before night. Sen. Tydings is talking & I must stop writing- Love from us both Warren.
