					<l>COPY</l>
					<l>February 5, 1935</l>
					<l>Dear Mother:</l>
					<l>I have your beautiful letter.</l>
<l>Mildred and I read your letters aloud, and enjoy</l>
					<l>them very much.</l>
<l>The Senate is marking time, but Senate Committees</l>
<l>are working hard, and when the work comes out of</l>
<l>the Committees the wheels will speed up here, and</l>
<l>your Record will show something of more interest.</l>
<l>I am a Member of the subcommittee of the Judiciary</l>
<l>considering the Black Thirty Hour Bill. It looks</l>
<l>very much as though I might be the only Member of</l>
<l>that subcommittee of five who will vote against the</l>
<l>bill. If that should prove to be true, I would feel</l>
<l>obliged to present the minority point of view on the</l>
					<l>Floor of the Senate.</l>
<l>An editorial was put into The Record by Senator Barbour</l>
<l>which you would like to see. You will find it at p.</l>
<l>636 of The Record of January 17th.</l>
<l>Best love from both of us to you.</l>
					<l>Your affectionate son</l>
					<l>Mrs. Chauncey G. Austin,</l>
					<l>91 South Main Street,</l>
					<l>St. Albans, Vermont.</l>
