					<l>COPY</l>
					<l>December 12, 1931</l>
					<l>My dear Mother:</l>
<l>There is not much news yet.</l>
<l>we are both awfully busy and very lonesome. We feel</l>
<l>as though we are giving up a great deal.</l>
<l>On the other hand, of course, there is a wonderful</l>
<l>opportunity for service here, and honor (as well as</l>
<l>criticism) to be earned. I am adapting myself as</l>
<l>rapidly as possible to an entirely different regime</l>
<l>from my past life. The waste of time is a terrible</l>
					<l>thing to get accustomed to.</l>
<l>I saw by the paper that Chan was visiting you. I</l>
					<l>wish I could have seen him.</l>
<l>I enclose herewith a clipping from The Washington Star,</l>
<l>which surprises me as much as it does you. I know</l>
					<l>nothing about this whatever.</l>
<l>Much love from both of us.</l>
					<l>Your affectionate son,</l>
					<l>Mrs. C.G.Austin,</l>
					<l>91 South Main Street,</l>
					<l>St Albans, Vermont.</l>
