					<l>November 21, 1919</l>
					<l>Member Vermont Legislature</l>
					<l>Dear Sir:</l>
				</lg>
			</p>
			<p>
				<lg>
					<l>Do you realize that among the 19 states which have</l>
					<l>already ratified the Federal Suffrage Amendment are Maine,</l>
					<l>New Hampshire, Massachusetts and New York, Vermont’s</l>
					<l>neighbor states, and also that 16 more states have</l>
					<l>promised to ratify before February, 1920?</l>
				</lg>
			</p>
			<p>
				<lg>
					<l>Do you realize that unless Vermont has a special</l>
					<l>session for the purpose of ratifying the Amendment our</l>
					<l>state will again stand in the position of being dictated</l>
					<l>to by N. H. amd N. Y. thru having to accept the Amendment</l>
					<l>as part of the law of the land, and which cannot be set</l>
					<l>aside or abrogated by any law or constitution of any</l>
					<l>state?</l>
				</lg>
			</p>
			<p>
				<lg>
					<l>We are asking the members of the legislature to sign</l>
					<l>a petition to Governor Clement urging him to call a</l>
					<l>special session, and we feel that you will want to help</l>
					<l>to uphold the fair name of Vermont by adding your name to</l>
					<l>those of the majority of both Houses which have already</l>
					<l>been secured.</l>
				</lg>
			</p>
			<p>
				<lg>
					<l>Please sign enclosed slip and return in enclosed</l>
					<l>stamped envelope as soon as possible.</l>
				</lg>
			</p>
			<p>
				<lg>
					<l>Very truly yours,</l>
					<l>Lilian H. Olzendam</l>
					<l>Chairman of Ratification</l>
				</lg>
			</p>
			<p>
				<lg>
					<l>I do not approve of asking the Governor to call a special session</l>
					<l>but should he do so will attend</l>
