			<p>
				<lg>
					<l>Dear Sir: - .</l>
				</lg>
			</p>
			<p>
				<lg>
					<l>As you have not responded to our appeal for your</l>
					<l>signature on petition to Governor Clement for special session,</l>
					<l>and as it is quite impossible for me to call personally upon the</l>
					<l>275 men in the legislature in the short time at my disposal, I</l>
					<l>am writing this to ask that you send same to me this week if</l>
					<l>possible.</l>
				</lg>
			</p>
			<p>
				<lg>
					<l>We already have a fine number of names in both Houses</l>
					<l>but would like to give all our friends a chance to be represented</l>
					<l>when Senator Howland and his Committee calls on the Governor and</l>
					<l>presents the petition.</l>
				</lg>
			</p>
			<p>
				<lg>
					<l>VERMONT is needed for the 36th State in order that</l>
					<l>ratification may be complete before Presidential Primaries, and</l>
					<l>we are relying on your support. With thanks for former favors,</l>
				</lg>
			</p>
			<p>
				<lg>
					<l>l am,</l>
					<l>Very truly yours,</l>
					<l>Lilian H. Olzendam</l>
					<l>Chairman of Ratification for Vermont</l>
				</lg>
			</p>
			<p>
				<lg>
					<l>In reply to the above permit me to say, if a special session of the</l>
					<l>Legislature is held and I am present I will probably vote for the Federal</l>
					<l>suffrage amendment, but at this time I do not care to petition Governor</l>
					<l>Clement to call a special session for that purpose alone.</l>
				</lg>
			</p>
			<p>
				<lg>
					<l>Respectfully,</l>
					<l>William A. Root</l>
				</lg>
