"Ecole Nazareth" appears over the main entrance, with the year 1929, the year the present structure was built to replace the 1869 building on the same site. Architectural style is called "Collegiate Gothic" (Blow et al., Historic Guide, p.196). Later became St. Joseph Parish School. Closed 2010.

Singer Sewing Machine Store, Burlington, Vt., before the construction of Irving's (ladies' ready-to-wear clothing store), which would later occupy the vacant lot at 19-21 Church St. To the left is People's Department Store. The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception can be seen in the distance.

                Stores - F.W. Woolworth (Burlington, VT)

                  • Description: Church Street (37-39). Well-stocked window displays invite shoppers to this three-story F.W. Woolworth on the corner of Church and Cherry St., which would eventually become the largest Woolworth in New England. Looking somewhat like the woolen mills in Winooski, this older structure was replaced by a modern one in 1964. Woolworth started closing its Vt. stores in the 1990s, the Church St. store closing in March, 1998.

                  Trinity College - Buildings & Interiors

                    • Description: The building now known as Mann Hall was once known as the administration building (built in 1939) of Trinity College. In 1972 it was renamed in honor of Mother Mary Emmanuel (Frances Mann), who steered the college through many challenging years of growth. It contained the library, classrooms, dining room, lab, and currently has a small auditorium. It is now owned by the University of Vermont.
