This view taken from the intersection of Flynn Ave. looking northerly on Pine St. was taken Aug. 3 just before contract was awarded to D. W. Overocker, Inc. for construction. The north end of the project is at Howard St. indicated by water tower over the Whiting Co,'s plant shown in the distance on the right hand side of the street.

- Description: June 30, 1942. This view shows the curb and gutter construction of Staniford Road near North Ave. looking westerly near the intersection of the proposed street leading into the George Reynolds property at No. 148 Staniford. The intersection can be seen between the two houses. Note the amount of filling necessary to bring the center of the roadway up to the proper grade. The work on the northerly side of the street was completed in Nov. 1941. A special appropriation of $4100.00 was made for the construction, $500.00 of which was for street grading. Work done by Burlington Street Dept.

- Description: November 3, 1942. This view shows the pavement one month after the Soil-Cement had been completed. Traffic had been allowed to use the pavement for the entire period. The intersection in the foreground was constructed of asphalt plant mix. The Soil-Cement pavement was given a light tack coat of asphalt emulsion as a protection coat for the winter.
