These units are kept very busy during and after every sleet storm. With this equipment the Street Department handled more than 2500 cubic yards of sand mixed with approximately 100 tons of rock salt, during the past winter."

This pavement had been needed for several years but due to shortage of funds and materials during the war period it was delayed for construction until this year. This pavement was constructed of stone-filled sheet asphalt hot plant mix approximately 2 inches in thickness.
