On the right is Mazel's Department Store at 194 North St.

In the foreground on the left is a corner store, further west is Bloomberg's Shoe Store and further on is the tower of the old Lawrence Barnes School at 144 North St. On the right a sign for Mazel's Department Store at 194 North St.

            • Description: July 12, 1945. North Bend Street Asphalt Pavement Project. This view was taken from the intersection of Washington St. looking easterly. Note the old surface treated gravel pavement on the right half of this 26 foot pavement and the new 4 inch asphalt penetration crushed stone base being constructed on the left hand side bringing the surface of the base to the level of the old surface. A child can be seen taking a ride on the steam roller.
