    • Date Created: 1940-11-21
    • Description: Photograph dated Nov. 21, 1940. Original caption reads: North Avenue Concrete Paving Project. This view shows the completed pavement at the intersection of North Avenue and Plattsburg Avenue. Note that the concrete pavement continues around the curve onto Plattsburg Avenue for a short distance to aid through traffic in staying on the main highway. The intersection was further improved by constructing an asphalt penetration base with plant mix wearing surface and asphalt curbs for a short distance out North Avenue beyond the concrete pavement and on the radius at the intersections of these two streets beyond the little island around the electric light post in the center of the picture.
